HOW DID YOU MEET:
We met through mutual friends in Port St. Lucie. It’s a funny story. Ryan was dating one of my friends and twe frequently went on double dates. Through the years we became close friends. We remained friends during breakups and Ryan moved to Orlando. Ryan continued to visit the bar I worked at because Ryan was friends with the manager. At this point about 4 years passed and friends would make jokes that Ryan was “into” me and I would laugh it off like it was a big joke.
Never in a million years did I dream that he would be romantically interested in me. I even set him up with multiple friends trying to find him a good match. Until one day after work, Ryan walked me to my car after closing and leaned over to kissed me goodnight. Shocked and amazed it only took 2 months before I moved to Orlando and here we are 8 years later and finally got married.

WEDDING THEME:
For our wedding theme we wanted to keep it simple but classy. The venue being a 1920’s speak- easy theme spoke volumes to our desire for the wedding. Although it was not themed 1920’s. Truly I just wanted black and white classic beauty with a bit of glam. I ended up going with black and white as the main color scheme with emerald and gold highlights.
The décor was already done due to the venue, so I did not have to do anything with it. The venue has original brick and rafter ceilings with gorgeous crystal chandeliers, stunning worn brown tufted cigar couches, vintage tables and chairs, absinthe bar, 2 story windows, complete with elevator and hidden door library entrance. PERFECT!
It was so much fun. For florals I went with elegant bouquets with white anemones, brilliant pink giant proteas, eucalyptus, dark black scarabs, and other greenery. We went all out for our attire. My gown was the Andi Gown from Hailey Paige which was the perfect mix of simple with tulle, over tulle over tulle. Apparently it’s one of the heaviest dresses on the market. And I loved it. My shoes were royal blue Betsy Johnsons with a giant rhinestone bow on the back. My party shoes were sequined out sneakers by Kate Spade and Ked. Ryan had a custom tux made which he designed complete himself and hes never looked so good.

THE WEDDING DAY
Where do I begin about the wedding? For starters, its 2020 and that means we had to postpone our original date due to lockdown. We rescheduled unsure if things would be back to some kind of normal and up until the day of were not 100% if it was really going to happen.
The venue and coordinators were just as determined to see it through, and they made it happen. To say the stress level was at a 10 would be an understatement. Our family and friends were the biggest support in the situation making sure that everything was taken care of. We all stayed at a beautiful historic home in downtown Orlando called the Wellborn. Can I just say that place had so much charm and our photographer captured it wonderfully in our portraits. The next challenge was my mom. She was living in a nursing home and at that point I had not seen her 5 months because of coronavirus.

It was heartbreaking that she was not going to be able to experience her only daughters wedding. I worked tirelessly trying to come up with a way to involve her and make sure that she was able to see us and have her special part in the ceremony.
Alicia came up with the perfect idea for us to do our first look at the nursing home. So I coordinated with the staff and they approved for her to come outside and social distance while watching us do our first look and take some photos. So this made the morning frantic. We had to be at the nursing home at a specific time to allow for pictures and travel back to venue for the wedding. But it was so worth it. I will be forever thankful that everyone was willing to take the extra time to make this special moment happen for me and my mom.

Once we arrived to the venue I was amazed at how perfect the coordinators set everything up. It was just as I envisioned and everyone was there and ready and excited. All the stress seemed to disappear once I saw how amazing it was. The next 5 hours flew by in an instant. I remember lots of tears, laughter and all the faces of the people closest to us genuinely finally celebrating our marriage. The bridal party looked absolutely stunning, the florals were magical, the look worked perfectly with the venue, and the best part…..Ryan actually showed up!!
