Gorgeous styled photo shoot

with wonderful vendors set at the stunning

Gilbertsville farmhouse

.

Set at the Gilbertsville Farmhouse in Upstate New York, this styled shoot follows our Bride and Groom (engaged in real life!) through an intimate ceremony, a bright reception, and s’mores by a rainy fire. However, the main focus of our story is the moody after party, set in the unique blue lounge area of the farm’s reception barn. This spread is meant to inspire next seasons’ brides to go BOLD, saturated jewel hues coupled with pops of Gatsby gold, old hollywood glamour in a pastoral setting, an intimate autumnal elopement with the sparkle and flair of New Year’s Eve. Country meets Vanity Fair in an unexpected space.

Photographer, Chelsea Fausel of Fausel Imagery, envisioned a session like this after seeing the distinct venue while capturing a wedding this past summer. The beautiful property features both functioning barns (goat yoga!), glamping areas, a hammock cove, a man made lake and many different wedding spaces.
She specifically wanted to feature the gemstone-toned lounge area and titled the shoot “It was all a dream-The After Party” a echo of the neon pink sign over the sofa.

Collaborating with the owner and staff at Gilbertsville, Sharon Boustanni and her assistant Vanessa, they assembled a team almost entirely made of women owned businesses from around upstate New York. With teamwork the true vision of a bold, dark, and intimate event came together. The color palette, inspired by those blue walls and the gloomy sky of a cold weather sunset flow between all details of the day. Gold accents and art-deco highlights add a touch of opulence to this exclusive party.

The ceremony took place right before dusk, in the woods in front of a geometric arbor at the height of fall foliage. The arbor, built by the venue, is embellished with Arnold’s Flower Shop’s floral design. Their arrangement includes rare pinks and teals, which are also seen in the bride’s’ gorgeous bouquet. The bright fuschias and purples are reminiscent of the neon sign and blue on the walls in the lounge and flowy greens and eucalyptus add an elegant flair. The couple say their I do’s, and after coming back up the hurricane lantern-lined tree stump aisle, they enjoy the sweeping view of the venue below.

The Bride’s Marina Semone “Leona Gown” is perfect for these bucolic landscapes as well as the more lavish party to come. We make our way back down to the chandelier barn for an intimate reception.
The Kate Smith Studio designed menus and hand lettered escort tiles adorn the head table. They rest atop gold chargers, continuing the juxtaposition of the modern glam scene against the rustic feel of a bare wooden table and worn mantle behind. After toasting one another and enjoying their meal, we follow the couple as they bundle up to enjoy s’mores on a cold autumn night with their closest friends.

The group travels across the cocktail patio to a cheery bonfire providing brief respite from the brisk wind and blowing rain that is beginning after sundown. What is a bonfire without s’mores? Hudson Valley BBQ provides a modernized version, with a ganache filled shooter rather than melted chocolate, protecting our guest’s grand attire, provided by Ever After Bridal. These outfits are finally revealed as our troop escape the rain to our main event, the After Party, at the VIP lounge across the diary barn.

The aforementioned blue walls and neon sign, married with fancy furniture and special effects lighting by Armitage Photography, make for an exclusive nightlife feel. Guests are welcomed by an ornate gold and blue “After Party” sign by Kate Smith Studio and miniature food and drinks from Hudson Valley BBQ.
Coats are off and reveal glittering floor length gowns lent by Ever After Bridal, and a luxe tuxedo from Hage Tuxedo. Hair by Justine (Hair and Bristle) is updated 1920s glam, fingerwaves and pincurls abound and heads are topped with delicate gilded hair pieces by Christine Elizabeth Jewelry. Makeup by JUJU beauty continues the vintage glamour, but kicks it up a notch with fearless dark eyes and brilliant fuchsia lips.

There are no wall flowers in this group. Guests enjoy their late night cocktails with the, not to be forgotten, two-tiered, dark chocolate ganache cake. Jessica Cunningham of Fingerlakes Cake Company took the sensual feel of the lounge and created this seductively decorated dessert with edible gold leaf and more bold florals from Arnolds.
Celebrating the union as well as the clouds clearing, we finish our evening in the early morning hours back outside by the venue’s man-made lake, in front of their signature “L-O-V-E” statue. Just before dawn, we can still see the stars and “LOVE” is lit up against a dark blue sky. Imagining this scene is what inspired Kate Smith Studio to design the invitation suite, full of deep inky tones and featuring a rendering of this lake, statue, hills and stars scene as the RSVP card.
The group has retreated to their tents after setting off lanterns. Our couple watches as they float across the lake wondering, in all their glamour, if truly “it was all a dream”…
