HOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET: We met online back in 2014. Score one for dating websites!
WEDDING THEME: Hallo wedding, Colours were purple and black, with just a touch of nerdy.
THE WEDDING DAY: We are nerdy and Halloween obsessive so naturally we got married on Halloween with some nerdy touches such as Marvel quotes in our vows. We kept the guest list extremely short, just a few immediate family members. The photographer and officiant were both friends of ours.
I crafted a lot for this wedding. I made my bouquet and all the other flower arrangements as well as my earrings, the welcome sign, and the favors.
We got married in a small courtyard in the uptown area of the town we live. A friend of ours had our names put on the marquee of the community theater next door. The weather was absolutely perfect!
Aside from the overall Halloween vibes with the black and purple color scheme we also added a few personal touches that spoke to our personality such as the Lego earrings and minifigures and the ring box with the Game of Life on the top. Not only do we enjoy playing board games together, he used the Game of Life as part of the proposal so we worked this into our wedding day as well. We also incorporated our love of Taco Bell and his gaming interest into the post-ceremony photos.
The reception was just as small and intimate. We went to a favorite restaurant here in town and used their side room for our festivities. Our brothers and my father gave toasts, we ate delicious cake, and just enjoyed each others company.
We really made this wedding our own, including personalizing the script the officiant would use, and did our own thing as far as attire, decorations, and music. We could not have asked for this day to go any better!
